Portland Junior Pirates

Saco, ME- The Portland Jr. Pirates announced today that defenseman '90 Ryan Boucher of Lewiston, Maine has verbally committed to play for the University of Southern Maine Huskies in Gorham, ME for the 2009 - 2010 season.

This past season was his 3rd with the Junior Pirates program. Boucher becomes the Junior Pirates 61st college commitment.

Boucher was traded from the Junior Pirates in February to the New York Bobcats and was a huge impact for both teams. Ryan Scored 13 goals and 14 assists with the Junior Pirates and added an extra 2 assists for the Bobcats. He ended the year third in defenseman scoring in the Atlantic Junior Hockey League and was named MVP of the AJHL All-Star Game.

Ryan joins Dan Smith and Kevin Smith next season for the USM Huskies, as well as Junior Pirates from past seasons, Ryan Jean and Mike Carpenter.
